As a lawyer, real estate broker and owner of two small businesses for the last 25 years, Mike has seen just how much business owners in our District, and the state, have suffered in recent years. And, when businesses suffer … employees suffer. That’s why Mike supports measures to retain and bring business (and jobs) back to the District. Mike will embed a permanent business and jobs liaison in his office to help people start businesses, obtain needed financing and tax credits, and ultimately to grow and sustain those businesses and jobs. Mike will aggressively work to encourage media, art, entertainment, music, and event production to stay in, and return to, the District through economic development zones and business, sports, and entertainment corridors throughout the District. With the World Cup and Olympics on the horizon, Mike believes that we have a tremendous opportunity to harness international support for local businesses and to create good paying jobs for the next generation.
