Mike’s experience over the last decade as a City Planning Commissioner and as an attorney working in building and housing gives him firsthand experience with how difficult the process can be to build housing in our District. Mike has also experienced how difficult it is for individuals to pay rent, let alone to afford to buy a home. We must streamline the process to create new housing at all price levels and create incentives to encourage the development of housing to support working- and middle-class neighbors. This will help ensure that essential members of the community—teachers, public servants, law enforcement, local business owners, and their employees—can live in the communities in which they work.
